Tito’s Penne Alla Vodka

I love Penne Alla Vodka, so I made an effort to learn how to make it myself and fell in love by putting my spin on things. Here is the recipe for Tito’s Penne Alla Vodka!


Prep Time: 5-10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes


What You’ll Need:

  1. 1 Box of Penne Pasta

  2. 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

  3. 2 Tablespoons Butter

  4. 1 Medium Onion, Chopped Finely

  5. 2 cloves of Garlic, Minced

  6. ¾ cup (or 1 cup) Tito’s Vodka

  7. 1 can (approx 14 oz.) Tomato Puree

  8. 1 cup Heavy Cream

  9. A pinch of Red Pepper Flakes

  10. ¼ teaspoon (to 1/2 teaspoon) Salt

  11. Freshly Ground Black Pepper

  12. 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions:

1) Cook pasta according to package directions. 2) In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. When butter is melted, add in chopped onion and garlic. Stir and allow to cook for two minutes. 3) Pour in vodka. Stir and cook for three minutes. 4) Add tomato puree and stir. Reduce heat to low and stir in cream. Simmer and occasionally stir. 5) Stir in red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. 6) Drain pasta, reserving 1 cup of pasta water in case the sauce is too thick. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to combine. Splash in a little water if needed. 7) Stir in Parmesan cheese.

Garnish with more Parmesan cheese, and serve!
