Both my four-year-old and four-month-old inherited my not-so-great GI issues. They’ve got sensitive stomachs and struggle with constipation more often than not.
When my daughter was a baby, switching her to Similac Alimentum and occasionally using a suppository made a world of difference. Thankfully, she’s mostly grown out of those painful gas and constipation episodes.
But with my son? It’s been a whole different journey.
At just four months old, he was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy. We’ve been working closely with his GI doctor to get him comfortable, and while switching to EleCare has helped reduce vomiting and congestion, he still needs a suppository almost every other day to go.
What’s Worked for Us: Gas & Constipation Relief for Babies & Toddlers
After lots of trial and error, here are the tried-and-true tools I now keep in our medicine cabinet to help my little ones feel better:
💨 For Gas and Colic
This thing looks wild, but it works. Windi helps relieve gas and colic, and occasionally even triggers a bowel movement. I always keep a pack on hand.

Fridababy Windi the Gaspasser
These gas drops are a staple in our house. I give them to my son when he’s extra gassy. They usually kick in quickly.

Infant's Mylicon Drops
I use this when he’s fussy, especially if he has hiccups or general tummy discomfort. It’s gentle and has a calming effect.

Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water
🚽 For Constipation Relief
Although the label says for ages 2–5, our son’s GI doctor assured us it’s safe for him, given the severity of his constipation. It usually works within 5–10 minutes, and the relief is immediate.
Check with your doctor before using this on a baby under two.

Pedia-Lax Glycerin Laxative
These are great for my four-year-old. She loves the taste and takes them without a fuss. They usually work within 30 minutes to 2 hours, and always get the job done.

Pedia-Lax Chewable Tablets
🌱 For Ongoing Digestive Support
I give these daily to help keep my daughter regular. They’ve definitely helped regulate her system and reduce those painful flare-ups.

Digestive Advantage Kids Probiotic
If your little one is struggling with gas, colic, or constipation, I hope this post gives you some ideas to try. But always check with your child’s pediatrician or pediatric GI doctor before trying anything new, especially for babies under two.
